Afshin is a Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at Brunel University London. Over the past decade, he has led a number of projects in the area of sustainable maritime shipping. In the EU project PortForward, Afshin has successfully led the development of The Green Yard Scheduler (GYS) to enhance the sustainability and productivity of container terminals for the first implementation at the Port of Vigo in Spain. He is actively seeking to promote the reach and impact of the GYS by its pilot testing and implementation in other ports.
