Polite Laboyrie is President of the Central Dredging Association and International Director at Witteveen+Bos Consulting engineers. He studied Coastal Engineering at the Delft Technical University and got his Masters on Civil Engineering in 1986.
He has 35 years of experience in Hydraulic and Environmental engineering. He started his carrier in the Maintenance Department of the Port of Rotterdam. After that he joined the Dutch Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. Here he was Head of the Department of Hydraulic engineering and Environment.
He was involved in complex projects like the development and construction of the Maasvlakte 2 Port of Rotterdam expansion project and the Room for the River Project on water management and flood protection of the Netherlands. Internationally he worked on master planning projects in Africa and Latin America.
Within the international network organisation “Central Dredging Association” Polite Laboyrie was lead editor of the recently published book “Dredging for Sustainable Infrastructure” showing the state of the art methods, tools and examples on how to create sustainable infrastructure. He is also co-author of the soon to be published report ‘Financing sustainable marine and freshwater infrastructure’.
